Outdoor Celtic Concert at Kanuga

Previous events

This will be a very special evening on All Soul's Eve, honoring lost friends and loved ones. StrathSpan will play a one hour set filled with lovely, contemplative airs and waltzes, and joyous, uplifting music. Please see the poster below describing the whole evening, which includes an optional dinner. If you've not been to Kanuga before, it is a special place situated on 1,400 pristine acres in the Blue Ridge mountains where you can re-connect with nature. The concert will be held in the lakeside pavilion, but if it's too cold, we'll move into the lovely chapel.

Jul11

StrathSpan was supposed to play two performances Friday July 10th on the Alex Beaton stage at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games - that is until Covid 19 caused the Games to be cancelled. However, the Games committee has been very busy putting together a weekend of video footage that will be aired live on YouTube and Facebook. The show will begin with the historic torchlight ceremony at 8:30 PM on Thursday July 9th. It will continue over the weekend, showing some of the Games most popular events and musicians. StrathSpan is honored to air on Saturday July 11th at 12 noon. Please log in to Facebook live or Youtube to catch our performance!!!

Alasdair Fraser's Scottish Fiddling School

Valley of the Moon

Nora will be flying all the way to California to attend a week of intensive fiddling with Alasdair Fraser and his instructors.  She last attended Valley of the Moon in 1999 so it's time to go again to see old friends and make new ones.  She'll be going with fiddling friend Debbie Morris, and cello friend Tracey Maxwell.  They'll come back pumped up and full of new music to share with their Scottish music club and keep them busy the rest of the year.
