Innovative string music with a Scottish flavor. Nora Garver plays fiddle. Julia Weatherford plays cello. Together they weave a Celtic musical tapestry of innovative harmonies and rhythms.
StrathSpan and harpist, Sue Richards, will play a concert of contemplative music to remember and honor lost loved ones.
Nora, Julia, and Cathleen, a trio called Ceilidh Doon, perform their special brand of high energy Celtic music featuring the fiddle, cello, and Scottish small pipes. Select the Ceilidh Doon menu button above for more information about the group.
Julia, Nora and Cathleen perform for Sweeten Creek Brewery's Spring Renaissance festival to celebrate the release of Peanut Blonde Stout.
This will be a very special evening on All Soul's Eve, honoring lost friends and loved ones. StrathSpan will play a one hour set filled with lovely, contemplative airs and waltzes, and joyous, uplifting music. Please see the poster below describing the whole evening, which includes an optional dinner. If you've not been to Kanuga before, it is a special place situated on 1,400 pristine acres in the Blue Ridge mountains where you can re-connect with nature. The concert will be held in the lakeside pavilion, but if it's too cold, we'll move into the lovely chapel.
Nora and Julia will join Karen Gaughan (piano) for an English Country Dance to kickoff the whole weekend of English Country Dance workshops and dances.
